Poincaré generators of spinning binary in the post-Minkowskian approach
Sangmin Lee, Seoul National University,

A gravitating binary system is expected to be invariant under the global Poincaré algebra. The construction of Poincaré generators, in particular the boost generator, can serve as a strong consistency check in the post-Newtonian (PN) or post-Minkowskian (PM) approaches. In this talk, we show how to construct the boost generator at low orders in the PM Hamiltonian framework. Compared to previous work in the PN framework, we observe significant simplification, while the two sides agree perfectly when they overlap. Our boost generators are complete up to 2PM order for non-spinning binaries and 1PM order for spinning binaries. The difficulties with higher PM generators for spinning binaries will be briefly discussed.

The talk is in 269 Lauritsen Laboratory.
