The O(n) and S_Q Conformal Field Theories in 2 dimensions

The critical O(n) and S_Q (Q-state Potts model) in 2 dimensions are, for n and Q real, described by non-unitary, non-rational CFTs, whose properties have long remained mysterious. I will sketch in this talk the recent solution of this problem based on the convergence of several approaches, including the bootstrap and representation theory of associative algebras.
