Qubit-based sensing for axion dark matter
Chiara Salemi, KICP, Stanford/SLAC,

Axions may be the dark matter that pervades the universe, but detecting them presents a major challenge.  Their mass is unconstrained over many orders of magnitude, and the signals they would deposit in reasonable detectors are miniscule.  Advances in sensing are required to tackle this challenge, with different technologies needed in different mass ranges.  Here I present a new concept for qubit-based sensors that we are developing for use with the BREAD experiment's search for "high-mass" (~meV/THz) axions.

The talk is in 469 Lauritsen.
